When jackets, shoes, and bags don't have a designated spot
The entryway is one of the most frequently used areas of a home. At the same time, it’s often the first place where clutter accumulates. That was exactly the case with this project.
A custom-built coat rack transformed an open and somewhat disorganized space into a well-thought-out solution that combines storage, convenience, and design. The result is an entryway that looks tidy, makes everyday life easier, and leaves a warm, welcoming first impression.
The initial situation
Before the renovation, the entryway consisted of individual pieces of furniture and makeshift solutions. Jackets hung on a freestanding coat rack, shoes were placed on doormats, and many everyday items had no designated place.
Although there was plenty of space available, it was not used optimally. The entryway quickly felt cluttered and offered only limited storage space for clothing, bags, and other everyday items.
A standard solution would have made only partial use of the available space. Therefore, the goal was to find a coat closet that would make optimal use of the space and blend harmoniously into the home’s design.
The idea behind it
The goal was to combine as many features as possible into a single solution.
The new coat rack should provide enough space for jackets and accessories, while also offering a practical place to sit and enhancing the visual appeal of the entryway.
To this end, a tall wardrobe with a built-in clothes rod and additional storage space was designed. It is complemented by a second wardrobe on the opposite side and a floating bench with rounded corners, which makes it easier to put on and take off shoes and provides additional storage space.
Our client’s large round mirror, along with our decorative wood paneling, further contribute to a cozy atmosphere and make the entryway a real eye-catcher.
The implementation
The custom-made coat rack was designed to fit the existing space perfectly.
The tall wardrobe offers ample storage space behind its doors for jackets, bags, and other everyday items. Open shelves provide quick access to frequently used items.
The floating bench features warm wood finishes and blends harmoniously into the overall design. Its rounded edge serves as a modern focal point that makes a bold statement. The large mirror next to the closet on the opposite side visually enlarges the space and makes the entryway particularly inviting.
The vertical wood panels add a modern touch and tie the individual elements and cabinets together to create a cohesive and holistic design throughout the room.
Thanks to the custom design, every centimeter was put to good use without making the entryway look cluttered.

Jackets disappear behind closed doors, shoes have their own designated spots, and everyday items can be neatly stowed away. At the same time, the room looks bigger, tidier, and much cozier.
The new entryway shows just how much potential even a relatively small entryway can hold when the design is tailored precisely to your needs.
