Custom-made dressing room with clear structure and integrated lighting
This project shows how an initially inconspicuous room can be transformed into a functional and at the same time stylish dressing room.
The focus was on the question of how to create as much storage space as possible without the room appearing cluttered – and how to combine technology and design in such a way that both are convincing in everyday life.
The initial situation
The room was to be used as a dressing room – but at first glance, it didn’t offer much structure.
The challenge was to create as much storage space as possible without the room appearing cluttered or losing its homely character.
At the same time, the wish was clear: clothes should be neatly stowed away, personal items should remain visible and everything should be easily accessible.
The idea behind it
It quickly became clear that a classic cupboard solution would not be sufficient here.
Instead, a combination of quiet, closed areas and deliberately placed open areas was to be created – a dressing room that is not only functional, but also impressive in terms of design.
It was particularly important to integrate technology such as clothes lifts and lighting in such a way that it supports everyday life but is hardly visually noticeable.
The implementation
The made-to-measure dressing room uses the entire wall surface and creates storage space without restricting the room.
Flush fronts in wild oak create a calm, high-quality look, while specifically placed niches with indirect lighting showcase personal items.
Inside, two clothes lifts, pull-outs and custom-made compartments as well as internal solid wood drawers provide structure and quick access – all tailored precisely to the customer’s use.
A custom-made ceiling light picks up on the material and lines and combines furniture and room to create a harmonious overall look.
The result
The result is a dressing room that is more than just storage space: a calm, structured room that functions in everyday life and at the same time follows a clear design line.
Everything has its place – and that was precisely the aim.
